The declaration provided disaster assistance to individuals, businesses, and public agencies. The report transmits the Hazard Mitigation Team's recommendations to the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Regional Director, the Governor's Authorized Representative, Hawaii County and interested local, State and Federal Agencies. This report and recommendations will provide guidance to Federal, State and County departments and agencies to reduce future volcanic eruption damage in Hawaii County. It is based on an assessment of damage sustained during the January 1983 to present lava flows and a review of existing hazard mitigation programs, measures and procedures
