Summary: On January 8th, 1994 Sydney was devastated by bushfire. Fire swept through a number of suburbs, destroying lives and property, including 87 houses in one suburb alone, and inflicting a range of trauma on individuals and families. This video concentrates on the effect on one small area of the devastation in one unlucky suburb. Through a series of interviews with members of three neighbouring families, it traces the individual effects, interwoven with contemporary and historical footage, covering the disaster of loss of property and personal effects, and the emotional consequences and effects on family relationships over two years, as they rebuild their lives.
