The Disaster Research Center was established at the Ohio State University nad moved to the University of Delaware at the end of 1984. It was the first of its kind in the world, and, at the present time, it is one of the extremely few research operations anywhere that maintains stand-by tems ready to launch immediate field studies of impending disaster and actual disaster impacts.
