In the worst hit center, Nambour, 250mm (10 inches) of rain fell between 4.45am and 8 am. In the 24 hours ending 9 am on Wet Wednesday, the total was 350mm (14 inches). Police, State Emergency Service members and volunteers were kept busy throughout the day answering calls for help from residents and motorists stranded by floodwaters.
