Prof. Taylor and Dr Frazer were asked in consultation with Dr. W. Treadwell, Director of Police Medical Services, to provide stress counselling and monitor stress effects on rescue and mortuary team workers following the Air New Zealand DC10 disaster. Results are not yet complete but an interim report of 29 rescue workers is presented with results and recommendations. Further data from the mortuary team and the ice recovery team are still under collection and these will be used for comparison and analysis. The results will be reported in due course, and both will be computer analysed.
