Local residents expressed their concern to the Minister for Environment and Planning. There had been a number of reported escapes of chlorine from this plant. Emergency procedures had been agreed between ICIA and the Emergency Services. A hazard review of the plant had been completed by ICIA prior to this escape and an upgrading programme initiated with the Dept of Environment and Planning support. The report provides a total of 23 recommendations for action to prevent further occurrences
