The visit was well worth while, not only did it afford a first hand account of the problem, it emphasised the beneficial effects of the Queensland Counter Disaster Act, which afforded the co-ordinating authorities the resource strength they needed to help combat their operational needs. Another bonus is understanding the topographical layout of the region in which these floods and cyclones take place
