This training manual was produced to support disaster management training workshops organised by the Tear Fund in underdeveloped countries. The manual is arranged into four sections: Christian Dimensions, Attitudes, Knowledge and Skills. "Christian Dimensions" addresses questions such as: Why is there suffering? Why do disasters occur? What is our responsibility to the poor? "Attitudes" identifies the personal qualities essential in relief work. "Knowledge" provides an understanding of the nature and effects of disasters, covering basic principles such as vulnerability and hazards. Technical information relating to disaster management is given. "Skills" is essentially an introduction to various management techniques and provides effective action guidelines for the relief worker
